- Up before 0700hrs (”What does the Oh stand for? Oh God it’s early!”) as Puggle was restless so he may as well be fed breakfast and not wake anyone else up.
- After breakfast, turn off the water, replace washer in tap (it had been wasting water, annoying me, and annoying me during the night). Again. Need to find better washers or a better seating tool. Or a new tap.
- Turn on the water, discover that with the mains tap on almost full the bathroom tap outputs water faster than the bathroom sink can drain. Puggle is attempting to turn off the bathroom tap, somehow it reminds me of The Sorceror’s Apprentice.
- Discover that the bathroom lacks a floor drain (or someone installed a barrier between the main floor and the shower drain). Either way, mopping is necessitated to contain the flood to the bathroom. Tap now only drips minimally. Turn mains tap down 5 turns or so.
- Puggle wants to put his AppleWorks clip art creations on a blog for other people to see. And write music. His ‘typing of search terms’ skill has been translated from YouTube to the AppleWorks on-line clip art library, which is kind of cool.
- Inspired by the early morning productivity, catch the bus to work, with a nice walk from the Hospital in a continued attempt to up my energy expenditure for the week.
- SF@Pub. Meet new folks. Eat black pudding (not bad) for the first time. Have dinner with a snake, for the first time.

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008The week, redux
Monday, February 25th, 2008- Pizza on Friday, Monday, Thursday. Fish and chips. This week, appointment with GP to discuss cholesterol test results
- Bucks night on Friday. Much beer and oglage.
- Shopping with Puggle on Saturday. Dug more trampoline pit. Pushed more swings for Puggle and Bilby. Bilby has really got the hang of this walking thing and can climb up the ladder and slide down!

The week, redux
Sunday, February 17th, 2008- An extra 50 minutes of walking as a result of getting off the bus at earlier stops. Yay for exercise!
- MacGeeks dinner at Tsunami
- Sorry day, and Rudd further restoring my pride in being Australian.
- Valentines day (ignored, with apologies to greeting card, flower and chocolate companies)
- A summons to the GP as a result of the cholesterol test.
- Watching Bilby walk around the house without assistance, even carrying things when she’s asked to tidy up after Puggle
- Pushing the swing for Bilby and Puggle and friends. Need to find some way to bolt it to the ground better, they’re all getting heavier.
- Taming of the Puggle (well, more attempts thereof)
- Dinner with the workmates (anchovies, anchovy oil and caramelised onion makes a great pizza if you like anchovies).
- Crossing minor achievable tasks off the list (dug up the fig for a refund, updated car rego and parking stickers)
- Dinner with Skip
Wake up and smell the coffee
Sunday, December 23rd, 2007Woken up this morning by Puggle proclaiming “Dada, come and make me a coffee”. This is not particularly unusual.”I’ve got everything set up”Visions of a kitchen knee-deep in brown caffeinated sludge.Getting into the kitchen I find the chocolate shaker and star template laid out neatly next to the measuring scoop, already primed with the first measure of coffee, with only minimal spillage. Next to this is a cup. On the machine is a jug with milk in it already to be frothed.”I didn’t plug it in because I couldn’t reach” (Well, I’m thankful for that! Electricity, water and steam is a hazardous combination at the best of times!)Needless to say I frothed his milk and made his coffee for him. He even said he didn’t want actual coffee in it (usually I remove the group handle and give him hot water and expect he thinks he’s getting actual caffeine
Later on in the day he juiced an orange all by himself. I’m hoping for freshly squeezed OJ tomorrow
[Edit - Yes, got a freshly squeezed OJ the next day. He used a plastic kiwi fruit knife to halve the oranges. Only got about half the juice out of each orange though as they're still a bit big for him to handle properly]

Puggle-isms
Monday, August 6th, 2007Me: Be good for Mama!
Puggle: I won’t be!
Me: You won’t be?
Puggle: I will be bad, but Bilby will be good!
Puggle: I’m not scared of the spinny things, but I am scared of the laundry things
Me: Spinny things?
Puggle: The spinny things with the lights (gets down off chair, spins around, nodding up and down).
Me: The blue lights?
Puggle: Yes.
Me: Daleks?
Puggle: Yes, Daleks. I’m not scared of them but I am scared of the laundry things.
Me: Laundry things?
Puggle: Yes, laundry things, they push one of the pigs with one.
Me: Like plungers? (We had a plunger in the laundry)
Puggle: Yes.
(Really I didn’t intend his first introduction to Doctor Who to be “Daleks in Manhattan”)
The Sum of my Parts
Tuesday, July 24th, 2007Puggle cuddling up on the couch with Mama: “Dada, bring all the parts of your body over here next to Mama”
The Weekend…
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007- Beer with Skip
- Ocean’s Thirteen (Enjoyable, but unremarkable)
- Shopping with Puggle
- Kylie’s BBQ with added spa-ey goodness
- Many people crafting
- Fishing with Puggle, his grandfather and Uncle. Catching many blowies, but very enthusiastic about it
Even while the cold wind took its toll, he wanted to stay until we caught “a big fish”
The weekend
Monday, May 28th, 2007Went to the park with Puggle (It’s been a while since we last went. Longer legs make him faster! He’s harder to catch when I’m encumbered with his discarded scooter too). Fortunately it being freezing cold seems to mean the playground is quite deserted. Beer with Skippy, beer and pool with the Novocastrians, blogging, chats. Bilby is scooting around on the floor now, nowhere is safe.
