Child abuse or Terrorists?

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

The Government must be torn between using the Police at Perth Airport to defend against Terrorists or deploying them to the state’s north to fight child abuse. I wonder which would poll better? I know which is more likely. According to Mal Brough on Lateline the other night WA is the wealthiest state, we have lots of money for police. That’s why they keep getting poached by the AFP, right?

Sustainable Investment Market

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

According to Lateline Business Australia is to get a Sustainable Investment Market (to be launched by none other than Al Gore :) for environmentally sustainable companies. Reduced fees will apparently encourage such companies to list.

I guess that means that all the companies that are on the ASX instead of the SIM aren’t sustainable?

Creative Commons, the answer for David Hicks?

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Just watching Australian Attorney General Phillip Ruddock on Lateline, essentially stating that if David Hicks tries to make any profit from his experience the law will be (retrospectively) changed to remove any loopholes he attempts to exploit (what could our government be so afraid of, one wonders?).

But what if he follows the Creative Commons model and allows his story to be reproduced for free?
