A reminder that the ABC will be screening the oil documentary “Crude” tomorrow (Thursday) night at 8:30pm. While you’re at it, set the video for Compass at 9:30pm on Sunday for the second part of Richard Dawkins’ documentary about religion titled “Root of All Evil”.

The ABC Fiction award is offering a $10,000 advance and publication through ABC Books for manuscripts you haven’t sent to anyone else (and you have to be over 18). Note that’s ‘ABC’ as in ‘Australian Broadcast Corporation’.

The ABC is doing an Australian version of the BBC’s excellent 7 Wonders of the Industrial World, (one of my favourite BBC documentaries), covering the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Goldfields pipeline, and the Telegraph. Constructing Australia starts on the 18th of March.
