Skip and I went to see Jarhead today. As a bonus got to see the V for Vendetta trailer, can’t wait for that, I hope it’s not cut to shreds. The trailer looked like it had promising scenes included though of course the trailer may bear no resemblance to the movie.

As expected it had a pretty strong ‘futility of war’ message. It was quite watchable but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to see it. Great scenery of endless desert, and endless desert on fire, so if you like that, see it on the big screen. I wonder if the advertising was targeted at making people think that it was a ‘war is good’ film, only to then lure them into ‘war is boring and futile’.
Only just realised it was directed by American’ Beauty’s Director, Sam Mendes
